Wei-Li
About This Spot
Stepping into Wei-Li in the heart of Auburn feels like entering a warm, familiar corner of local tradition. The modest storefront at 945 Center St gives way to an inviting space where the pace slows just enough to savor more than a meal — it’s a moment of genuine connection. Though the dining room hums softly with quietly shared stories and the occasional laughter of families and regulars, the atmosphere remains unpretentious and comforting, a reflection of the neighborhood itself.
Here, every dish seems to carry a sense of care rooted in time-honored recipes and the rhythms of everyday life. Whether it’s the gentle crunch of perfectly fried Crab Rangoon or the subtle balance of flavors in a bowl of Wonton Soup, there’s a thoughtful harmony at play that speaks to both nostalgia and honest cooking. The kitchen’s willingness to balance classic favorites like Sesame Chicken alongside less common finds — exquisite Sichuan-style green beans or a hearty Pu Pu Platter — invites guests to explore the breadth of what Chinese cuisine can feel like in this corner of Maine.
Wei-Li is more than its menu; it’s the friendly nod from the staff who know many patrons by name, the seamless way the space accommodates busy weeknights without losing its relaxed charm, and the easy-going comfort that reassures you this is a place worth returning to — whether for a quick takeout or an unhurried dinner. The steady hum of conversation and the attentive care found in both service and preparation highlight a quietly proud story of a family-owned restaurant that has become a beloved part of Auburn’s local fabric.
For those who appreciate food as a gateway to community, Wei-Li gently unfolds its simplicity and heart with every visit—offering a grounded, authentic experience that stays with you long after the last bite.

Take out, food was very delicious, clean and healthy, I personally love the flavor of fried rice that isn't greasy. The chicken was actually chicken chunks. Looking forward to trying a dine in experience.

Great family-owned restaurant with a long history in Auburn. Large menu with all the classics, including a few more authentic dishes you don't see at other Chinese restaurants. Sichuan String Beans: to die for! Nice atmosphere with great service.

Tonight was our first time ever here and it was a wonderful experience! We arrived around 630 on a Friday night and had a 10 minute wait, they have a seating area that you can wait at. The staff was so friendly and personable. The regulars they knew they would give them hugs and us being new we had many of the servers/workers making sure we felt welcome and asked us how our meal was. The food was absolutely delicious, some of the best Chinese I’ve had in quite a while! We will definitely have to return! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Chinese and amazing service! They even wanted to pack our food for us and we told them we could do it and the waitress bagged up our food for us as well, wonderful service. A true gem of a place!

I’ve had Chinese food all over the country and this is easily the best I have ever had! Such a hidden gem in Maine, a must try!

Very good food. One of my top choices when I’m in the mood for chinese. Sesame chicken is the best. Had to wait a little longer than I would’ve liked to get waited on but still a great restaurant. I would never pass up a chance to go here.

Wei Li has ruined all other Chinese restaurants for me. This will hands down be the best food you’ve ever had! We live 45 minutes from here and will travel that time to get their food! Staff is amazing, family owned and run and the best people ever!!

The pu-pu plater was a bit oily but still good overall The fried rice was delicious And the herbal tso’s was phenomenal! I got some extra spicy kind and the taste was on point! The spice added so much to this meal and was so good!
